There is an abundance of Opulence in Newport. It reeks of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Great Gatsby. And it is absolutely stunning.
I have been a member of The Preservation Society of Newport for more than 5 years now. I will always support these mansions because they provide jobs and amplify tourism in Newport.
When I was a young girl I read a book about a poor little rich girl named Doris Duke. From then onwards, I was captivated by LUXURY. And yet, here I am a stone away from Doris Duke’s mansion but never really visited.
Out of all the (Newport Mansions) I believe that THE ELMS is the most instagrammable mansion in NEWPORT.
And here’s why:
It may not have the Bay view which The Breakers, Rosecliff and Marble House boasts but it compensated with it’s view at the back and a sunken garden.
Very Downton Abby-ish.
I enjoy having photo-ops at The Elms. It has the most potential in shoots out of all the Mansions.
One might ask of my expertise about mansions and I will ignore this subject. Though I am enthralled by its beauty (and all mansions in general) the Asian in me disregard curiosity and immerse on what I love doing most, taking photos. Of myself. Mainly. Of myself.
Don’t judge!
The realms of possibility for photo-ops is boundless.
If there is a thing that I truly enjoy doing (aside from painting furniture which makes me happy) is traveling and FASHION. The Hubsy may not share the same interest but I guess my influence is slowly creeping through the recesses of his being. Watch out, I might create a monster.
